Q: Sorry to bother you but I figured you were from Korea so you would be a good person to ask. do you happen to know what is the respectful thing to give a Korean family if their mother has passed on? Like flowers, food, money?
My answer
Usually at funeral, Koreans are expected to prepare white envelop with money in it. Like 100,000 won to whatever amount the person feels very close to.
Close relatives put more money or someone who had very close business with or connection economically.
So the remaining family members can use the money for funeral and food that served for guests etc.
Koreans are quite practical I feel.
I don’t know if someone else would do other things…
Q: It is my realtor so I won’t be at the funeral I just would like to give her something
My reply: Yes People even send money as condolence fee we call it.
If they can’t attend. Still it’s a manner if they were close.
